Raquel Rodriguez Sarmiento

Qualification & Education

Raquel is a fully qualified podiatrist, holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Podiatry from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. She is a registered member of the Health and Social Care Professionals Council (CORU) and the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists of Ireland (SCPI). Raquel has obtained an MSc in Podiatric Sports Medicine at the University of Barcelona, Spain, and is currently pursuing a second MSc in Research Methodology in Health Sciences, with a dissertation focused on diabetic ulcers. Her aim is to continue her academic path with a future PhD.

Raquel has had clinical experience in both Spain and Ireland. Her background includes work in private practice and university clinics, with a focus on biomechanics, diabetic foot care, routine podiatry, and surgery. In addition to her podiatric career, she also trained and performed as a professional ballet dancer with Northern Ballet in the UK. 

Raquel has always been passionate about working with athletes, a passion deeply rooted in her background as a ballet dancer and further strengthened through her MSc in Podiatric Sports Medicine. She also has a strong interest in diabetic foot care, an area she is currently exploring further through her second MSc. Raquel finds podiatry to be a vital field that empowers people to move better and live healthier lives. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, spending time in nature and with her loved ones.
