Fit For Life Programme.

The Fit for Life Programme is a preventative Programme aimed at detecting mobility issues, falls and fracture risks. If detected, your Physiotherapist will create a tailored treatment plan for you to minimise any issues found and will advise you on any steps you may need to take to further improve your mobility, balance and bone health.

The Programme is delivered by Chartered Physiotherapists. The first step is to book the initial assessment which takes between 30-40 minutes and is available in select centres across Ireland.

At this assessment the Physiotherapist will examine;

  • Falls risk, through a walking test using a Class 1 Medical Device, with body worn sensors.
  • Fracture risk using a clinically validated assessment tool
  • Mobility issues through a serious of physical tests

Once completed you will receive a personalised report with your scores and will be advised on next steps. Depending on the assessment, you may be recommended one or more of the below:

  • An app-based prescription exercise programme
  • Individual treatment sessions with a Chartered Physiotherapist (30 mins each in duration)
  • Advice on next steps
  • A reassessment within 12 months

All of these are fully covered by your VHI policy if the “Fit for Life Programme” benefit is available on your plan.
