Find out how our team of experienced dietitians can help you.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a general term for conditions affecting the heart or blood vessels (including heart attacks, stroke and many more), and is the leading cause of death in Ireland. Along with other healthy habits, your diet can play a role in your treatment or disease management and help ward off any further complications. Not everyone has the same symptoms, and some people may not have any before CVD is diagnosed. For this reason, it’s important to be aware of the risk factors.
Coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease can’t be cured, but treatment can help manage the symptoms and reduce the chances of problems, including heart attacks. These changes include eating a balanced diet, being physically active, giving up smoking, and controlling your blood cholesterol and sugar levels.
Our virtual clinic makes it easy to connect with one of our specialist clinicians, while still ensuring personalised treatment and effective results, wherever you are.
Use our online booking tool to select an appointment at a time & date that suit you.

Your dietitian will join virtually to discuss your diet, lifestyle & health goals.
Once you have a diagnosis or, if you are at risk of developing CHD, booking an appointment with a registered dietitian will be your next step. A dietitian can help you to optimise your diet and lifestyle to prevent the development of CHD, manage your condition or prevent progression of the disease.
If you suspect that you are at risk of developing CVD or CHD, you should speak with your GP to take blood tests to confirm the diagnosis or evidence of risk factors.
During your initial consultation, your dietitian will assess your symptoms, diet and lifestyle.
The overall aim of diet therapy is to identify potential trigger foods, reduce symptoms of bloating and improve your quality of life. The dietitians at Spectrum Nutrition can help to identify the root cause of bloating, whether it is a symptom of wheat intolerance or IBS or a reaction to certain fibres or sugars in the diet. We will equip you with the knowledge and skills to prevent or manage bloating for good.
Your Dietitian will also carry out a complete nutritional assessment, taking a diet history, body composition analysis including weight, BMI, waist circumference, body fat percentage, lean body mass, waist to hip measurement and more.
