What should I do if I am suffering from Diarrhoea?
Before attempting to manage symptoms via your diet, it is important to rule out other medical conditions. We recommend that you visit your GP to rule out or diagnose a medical cause particularly if there are concerns such as unintentional and unexplained weight loss or a family history of bowel or ovarian cancer. Your next step will then be to visit a dietitian to assess your diet and lifestyle.
How Can Spectrum Nutrition Help?
During your initial consultation, your Dietitian will assess your symptoms, diet and lifestyle. The overall aim of diet therapy is to identify potential trigger foods, reduce symptoms of diarrhoea and improve your quality of life. The Dietitians at Spectrum Nutrition can help to identify the root cause of diarrhoea, whether it is a symptom of wheat intolerance or IBS or a reaction to certain fibres or sugars in the diet. We will equip you with the knowledge and skills to prevent or manage diarrhoea for good.
Your Dietitian will also carry out a complete nutritional assessment, taking a diet history, body composition analysis including weight, BMI, waist circumference, body fat percentage, lean body mass, waist to hip measurement and more.
You will receive:
- A starter meal plan tailored to you
- Recipe book to suit your dietary requirements
- Tailored advice and action points
